The Friday Food Pantry supports Grace Place’s mission by meeting the basic need for nourishment and health, which are essential for strong mental and physical development.
Residents of Golden Gate City live in a food desert. Major grocery chains remain outside this community, so many families rely on smaller local and ethnic food stores, which typically mark up costs and carry fewer fresh produce items. In the past year, Grace Place provided more than 350,000 pounds of food including dairy, meat, and produce, demonstrating the area’s desperate need for nourishment and health, which are essential for effective learning.
Since its opening in 2008, the Friday Food Pantry has been providing a crucial service to the community and has become the largest distribution channel for the Harry Chapin Food Bank in Collier County. Food donations are needed every week and many individuals and groups contribute with food drives.

Collier Harvest Foundation is dedicated to providing healthy and nutritious food to our hungry neighbors across Collier and southern Lee counties.
At Naples Harvest, their mission is to provide local shelters and food banks with fresh local produce. They coordinate local organizations and volunteers who pick fruit and vegetables that would otherwise go to waste. Volunteers then deliver locally picked produce to area food banks and shelters around our community.
Meals of Hope
Meals of Hope has given hundreds of volunteer-minded individuals a way to make a positive impact by bringing Food Packing Events to their local churches, schools, associations and other clubs and service organizations. They are tackling a serious problem while having some serious fun.
